On Friday night while Verline Barthelemy was cooking dinner, she opened the patio door and let the 13-year-old dog outside, but Foxx never return home.
“He usually came back in a few minutes,” Barthelemy said. “I called for him and I didn’t hear anything. He’d always come back.”
On Saturday morning, Barthelemy said a neighbor found Foxx’s lifeless body on the stairs leading to the patio and alerted Boisvert, who called Pembroke Pines police. Attached to the dog’s body was a handwritten note which read “WE BEAT IT 2 Death lol! 🙂 HAHAHA!”
“He didn’t deserve to be beaten to death,” Barthelemy said about Foxx.
The dog was taken to Saint Francis Animal Hospital where a veterinarian’s exam found it had multiple fractures. Dr. Ron Ridge, a veterinarian, says Fox had 10 broken ribs, missing teeth and a broken back. The vet says Foxx was likely kicked to death.
