On Tuesday, Amy Schumer posted an Instagram photo that she said was in a ‘plus-size’ edition of Glamour magazine, showing her name alongside of actress Melissa McCarthy, singer Adele and model Ashley Graham.
“I think there’s nothing wrong with being plus size. Beautiful healthy women,” Schumer wrote in the caption. “Plus size is considered size 16 in America. I go between a size 6 and an 8.”
After Schumer slammed Glamour magazine she tweeted that qualifying women with labels is pointless.
“Bottom line seems to be we are done with these unnecessary labels which seem to be reserved for women.”

Schumer thanked her fans for sharing their thoughts, everyone except the people who told her what she “should feel” or what she “should have focused on”.

This is not the first time Schumer has been referred to as ‘plus-size’.
In February 2015, Jeffrey Wells of Hollywood Elsewhere wrote that “Trainwreck director Judd Apatow is once again introducing a chubby-cheeked, whipsmart, not conventionally attractive, neurotically bothered female comic to a mass audience. First Melissa McCarthy in Bridesmaids, then Lena Dunham in HBO’s Girls and now Amy Schumer, the star and writer of Trainwreck as well as the star of Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer.”
Wells went on to write that there was “no way she’d be an object of heated romantic interest in the real world.”

Schumer responded to Wells by tweeting a picture of herself wearing only a tiny pair of panties with the caption “I am a size 6 and have no plans of changing. This is it. Stay on or get off. Kisses!”
